Welcome to Aliens Carnival Club, Midsomer Norton’s only feature carnival club.
Each year we fundraise and aim to build a cart (or float as they are often known) to take part in the Somerset carnival season.
We’re a small but friendly club, with members ranging in age from 8 to over 60 years.
New members of all ages are always welcome; take a look around our website, come and see us somewhere (check out our events listing) or just pop along to a meeting and say hello!

It’s been a busy few months for Aliens Carnival Club. As well as our idea being chosen and work beginning on designing and building this year’s entry, we’ve also been busy with lots of fundraising activities.
Family Prize Bingo – Our monthly bingo nights have great prizes and a raffle on the night. Our next dates are 11th April, 2nd May and 6th June at Prattens Social Club, with eyes down at 7.30pm – fun for all the family!
Jumble Sale – Our first jumble sale was a great success, with a queue of people waiting for the doors to open at 2pm. Once inside, people enjoyed rummaging through the jumble before sitting down for a cup of tea and a slice of cake in our café. Our next jumble sale will be on Saturday 9th May from 2pm to 4pm at Prattens Social Club. If you’d like to donate any jumble, you can drop items off between 10am and 12pm at Prattens.

Meat Raffle – We’re running a monthly meat raffle, supported by Mitchard’s Butchers in Westfield – and we thank them very much for their support. The raffle will run each month with gift voucher prizes of £30, £15 and £5. Easter Hamper Raffle – One of our younger members has been running a ‘Guess the Name of the Lamb’ raffle (with help from her parents). She had a great time choosing which prizes to include in her Easter hamper and has almost sold all the names, so the winning name will be revealed soon. It’s fantastic to see our younger members getting involved in such an important part of being in a carnival club.

100 Club – We’ve launched a 100 Club which will run from April to January. Pick a number for £20 (that’s just £2 a month) and your number will be entered into a monthly draw with prizes of £30, £20 and £10. There are still some numbers available, so if you’d like to join in, get in touch at aliensccfundraising@gmail.com.
Travelling Stall – We’ll be taking our travelling stall on the road to several local events and fun days over the summer. We’ll have three “prize every time” pocket-money games, plus the chance to chat to us about the club and even take a selfie while trying on some costume pieces! Keep an eye on our events listing (on the right of the home page) to see where we’ll be appearing.

Afternoon Tea – On Tuesday 14th July, Paulton Rovers will be holding an Afternoon Tea in aid of Aliens Carnival Club. Tea and cake will be available between 1pm and 4pm. A big thank you to Paulton Rovers for their support!
We’re also very grateful to have recently received donations from two organisations:
The Sperring Trust, who made a donation towards hi-viz jackets for our younger members to wear while travelling around the County Carnival Circuit.
St Mary’s School, Calne, who kindly donated their surplus paint for decorating our cart.
